Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce you to Windwalker Expeditions - a private Arizona adventure company that specializes in providing a wide variety of year round Arizona wilderness adventures.

We have been guiding personalized and private wilderness adventures since 1996 and are based out of Cave Creek, Arizona - approximately 45 minutes north of the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. We offer Arizona horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, four wheeling, and photography workshops. All of which can be done in a partial-day, full-day or multi-day format. Windwalker guides have been chosen for their experience and excellent personalities. They are true professionals who love what they do, so they do it quite well, and their genuine enthusiasm guarantees a fun and fresh experience for guides and guests alike.

Windwalker Expeditions operates in a very unique fashion. All of our activities are strictly private, which means that it's just you, or you and your party and a guide. This allows Windwalker to customize and create a safe and exciting desert excursion for small private groups who want something more than a dusty day on the Arizona trails.

Horseback Riding

Windwalker equestrian guides are experienced horsemen who own and train their own horses, Quarter Horses and Arabians. Some of our guides specialize in endurance riding, using lightweight endurance saddles (more for the English trained client), while others specialize in the Western style of riding, giving Windwalker a wide variety of quality horses to accommodate novice to advanced riders.

Humbug Gold Mine

Step into the past

Visit Humbug a historic gold mine at the base of the Bradshaw Mountains. You'll see the homesteads and grave sites of the first settlers who found gold in this area in the 1800's. While working along side an experienced prospector, you will hear some well told stories, learn about the geology unique to the area, pan for gold and keep what you find.

Accompanied by your choice of a professional photographer or a hiking instructor as your guide, you can explore the remnants of the desert's earliest dwellers. Experience some of Arizona's most rugged and spectacular scenic panoramas or visit an historic gold mine and pan for gold by the side of a working prospector.
