Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce you to Windwalker Expeditions - a private adventure company that specializes in providing a wide variety of unique Arizona wilderness vacation experiences. We are one of the Premiere Horseback Riding, Wilderness Survival, Photography, Hiking, Geocaching and Off-Road expedition companies in Arizona & the United States of America. We also offer fantastic team-building exercises and corporate retreats.

Windwalker will take you to where civilization becomes a faint memory. Our adventures take you deep into the wilderness areas of Arizona, although our headquarters are in Cave Creek, our adventures actually occur in places like the Tonto National Forest, the Bradshaw Mountains and the Superstition Mountains. We have thousands of miles of trails to choose from, meaning that you'll never run out of things to see and do with us! Our horseback trail rides are actually tailored to your level of skill, so these aren't typical trail rides. Our wilderness survival classes let you get hands-on with nature! Our photographers take you deep in the wilderness and let you capture photos of places few people are priviledged to see!

We specialize in adventures for individuals, small groups and even for corporate groups, and we are a "private only" company, which means it is just you and our guides in the beauty of the Sonoran Desert.We do not pair groups up unless it is by special request, so you have our guides all to yourself!

Adventures by Horseback

Where the real riders ride.

A horseback ride is one of the best ways to view the beauty of Sonoran Desert, the Superstition Mountains, the Tonto National Forest and the wilderness areas of Arizona.

Our equestrian guides own and train their own horses, from quarter horses to Arabians, which receive the best of care, conditioning and love. The guides are also some of the most knowledgeable and experienced riders in the state of Arizona. Because our horses are in such fine shape, this won't be a typical trail ride with horses walking nose to tail. You will thrill to the miles of cantering and trotting in the most amazing scenery imaginable. Read more

It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves.

You’ve heard of the hit television series Survivorman! Well now you can experience it for yourself with Windwalker Expeditions Wilderness Survival Guide Tosh Black!

Black’s idea of a nature outing is a lot different from yours and mine: he takes off alone and heads to remote corners of the Southwest with nothing but a knife, water purification tablets (although he knows natural ways to purify water) and a blanket and stays there for days at a time!

That means he spends a lot of time catching or finding his breakfast, lunch and dinner. He claims the tastiest critter is a tree lizard, wrapped in grape leaves, which he says “tastes like chicken!” While Black's menu may leave something to be desired, the things you will learn, not only about the wilderness, but about yourself will amaze you!
