Horseback Riding

Our goal at Windwalker Expeditions is to provide a unique and challenging horseback ride on well-conditioned, desert-wise horses. Our programs are geared for the guest with some level of confidence or riding ability. Windwalker is mobile. We trailer our horses to some of the most exciting and diverse trail systems in the state of Arizona. With more than 3 million acres of wilderness to choose from — and elevations ranging from 2,000 to 8,000 feet — Windwalker offers some of the most adventurous horseback excursions you will ever experience. Choose from the Arizona Trail, our National Scenic Trail, the legendary Superstition Wilderness, the Mazatzal Wilderness, Tonto National Forest, the Historic Black Canyon Trail or many more. We are able to design private horseback rides to match our guest’s individual interests and level of riding experience.

Windwalker’s equestrian guides are true professionals who train and care for their own horses, Quarter Horses and Arabians. Some of our guides specialize in the English style of riding using lightweight endurance saddles. Other guides specialize in the Western style of riding. Windwalker is able to provide a wide variety of quality horses to accommodate both riding styles.

For the rider with little or no experience, you will be riding with an experienced horseman, so this is a great opportunity to improve your riding skills. For the advanced to expert rider who wants a challenging ride and enjoys trotting and cantering for long periods of time, the finest endurance horses and professional horsemen await you.
