Debbie has over 40 years of experience starting, training and showing horses. She is an accomplished "horse person" and a well recognized competitor within the esteemed barrel racing circuit.
The exciting sport of Barrel Racing is a rodeo event in which horse and rider attempt to complete a clover-leaf pattern around barrels with the fastest ride time. This ride time is a competition against the clock and other competitor ride times. Precise control is also requited to win. The rider must pay special attention to detail while maneuvering at high speeds, since there are time penalties for hitting or knocking over the barrel. This winning time is a result of the horse's athletic ability, mental condition and the horsemanship skills of a rider.
And win Debbie did! Among her many accomplishments were her wins at the "Quarterrama Sweepstakes" four years in a row, and her six year qualifying streak for the International Finals Rodeo (IFR) in Oklahoma City, producing two wins on two different horses.
